Abersoch is a large village and popular coastal resort of approximately 1,000 inhabitants, lying on the east-facing south coast of the Llyn Peninsula in northwestern Wales at the end of the A499 road.
Originally a fishing port, Abersoch is now a centre for dinghy sailing and other watersports such as windsurfing and jet-skiing.
Due to the area's beautiful views, a small strip of beach at Abersoch, with planning permission for the construction of a beach hut, sold for £63,000 in May 2005.

Holyhead Coastguard dispatched the Abersoch Coastguard Rescue Team and requested the launch of the Abersoch RNLI inshore lifeboat to the scene.
On arrival it became apparent that two men had sustained serious injuries, the lifeboat crew informed Holyhead Coastguard that CPR was being administered to one of them and that a helicopter was required to transfer him to hospital.
Holyhead Coastguard requested the RAF rescue helicopter R122 from Valley to Abersoch to meet the lifeboat, Abersoch Coastguard rescue team prepared the helicopter landing site at the beach with police in attendance.
