		Abigail is reborn through Miriam, but not until after she kills Miriam's husband.
		As printed on the back in large red letters, "The album is LIVE in the true sense of the word." In other words there is no overdubs or remixing or fixes or any other studio wizardry to make this album sound better than it does just being laid straight down to tape.
		I'm not sure if the entire album is a concept or not, but a majority of the songs are a creepy tale of an arachniphobic named Harry who is taken to Devil Lake Sanitarium where they were to cure his head.

		All the King Diamond albums have stories that touch very deep on the human mind and human nature, but this time, the story touched on a subject that is often taboo: incest.
		Originally, this album was meant to be called The Plague, but the more the story grew on, the more King realized the story was too similar to "The Eye", so King decided to put that story aside.

		But it did stir some thoughts in my mine, 'Could the story of Abigail be continued?' I came up with something that didn't weigh too much on the old one and introduces a lot of new aspects.
		He's from a little north of where I am in Dallas and he was unbelievable because he had that kind of time structure in his body and he can relate to the type of complexity we had in the early days.

		This was his last album with the band (unfortunately) and then went on to play with Don Dokken's solo band from 1989 until 1991.
		He appeared on the same albums as Pete Blakk (Them, Conspiracy and The Eye), and was kicked out of the band for the same reasons as Pete (lack of enthusiasm and possibly a drug problem).
		All (or almost all) of the drums on that album were done by a drum machine, not by Snowy.

		Like said, I cannot compare it to the second part, but from what I know of the creations of the Dane with residence in Dallas, it is typical for KING DIAMOND, yet at the same time also different, underlining which ever part of the story is just musically supported.
		To mention single titles is almost impossible, because "Abigail II: The Revenge" is an album where you really cannot separate music and lyrics, too strongly the musical performance is woven into the again brilliant horror-story.
		It is a rare thing, but as almost any time the king releases an album it's worth it just sitting down with the CD in the player, taking the booklet and just to follow the fascinating story.

	Vanguard News Network Forum - Did you see King Diamond???
		King Diamond played each show I saw with the intro "Funeral" from the Abigail album of '87 which went into "Arrival" of that album.
		The next 3 songs were "A mansion in Darkness" "The family ghost" and "The fl horseman." I think Abigail was their best album and the crowd certainly knew those lyrics better than any other songs.
		It's the first album he's done with a second vocalist for some of the songs, and I really like the male/female duet vocalist bands such as Nightwish, Tristania, and Battlelore, so it's cool to see the King continue to improve his craft.

		Budgetary constraints and other issues kept the band home after the release of the much anticipated "Abigal 2" album so upon the release of "The Puppet Master" there HAD to be a tour one way or another.
		This is all new territory for both the fans and King to perform as, stated earlier, there was no Abigail 2 tour so about half the set is made up of all new live material.
		The "In Concert 1987: Abigail" album was done as a contractual obligation and was done basically with no real input from the band or King himself!
