Abortifacient essential oils should be avoided during pregnancy.
The oils listed below should NOT be used to induce the abortion of a fetus, since the abortifacient properties of these oils are linked to their toxic nature, and although it may in some cases bring about an aborted fetus, it would be equally toxic for the mother.
Emmenagogue oils do however not have abortifacient qualities, but since they stimulate the menses they also not be used during pregnancy.

Wisconsin Right to Life - Answers for Young Women - Birth Control
As stated in the 1970s policy and in the 2003 re-worded version, WRL opposes any form of birth control that acts as an abortifacient, i.e., one that results in the death of a conceived human being regardless of the stage of development.
However, there are also WRL members who support the claim that OCPs act as abortifacients based on the possibility that the hormones contained in the OCPs create a hostile environment in the uterus making it less likely that an embryo will implant.
Because current scientific tools limit their ability to issue a definitive statement, they have concluded: “As individuals committed to the protection of human life from the moment of conception, we have come to differing conclusions about the effect, or non-effect, of oral contraceptives on the early conceptus.

They have lodged an appeal against the distribution of the drug, on the grounds that it does not respect the abortion law of the year 1967 and that it causes an involuntary abortion, which is illegal.
This is not convenient for the WHO that fears the extension of this prohibition to the IUD's (another abortifacient) and of the Chilean government that wants to produce the same drug abroad under another name: it obtained a favorable decision from the Court of Appeal on October 11, and reinstated on October 12.
The propaganda in favor of the morning-after pill claims that it diminishes the number of abortions, but experience shows that now the number of surgical abortions has not decreased and chemical abortions caused by these drugs have to be added to the former; not to mention the increase of sexual promiscuity.

Research has suggested that this is the primary mode of action and Schering the manufacturer of the morning-after-pill, admitted this when it stated that the drug was “primarily aimed to prevent implantation of the fertilised ovum in the endometrium” (Schering, product summary for PC-4 morning-after-pill).

Another argument proposed by the proponents of the abortifacient nature of the BCP is this: If the pill has no abortifacient (postfertilization) effect, then the reduction of intrauterine pregnancies (IUPs) in pill-takers should be identical to the reduction in the rate of extrauterine (ectopic) pregnancies (EUPs) in pill -takers.

 do oral contraception cause abortion?
Abortifacient: a drug that kills a newly formed human being, whether by directly killing the baby or by preventing implantation, and so cause an abortion, either intentionally or unintentionally.
For a drug to be classified as abortifacient, conception must occur, and the loss of these conceptions must exceed the baseline loss for populations not using the drug, or be shown to occur solely as a result of the drug.
Therefore, we consider prescribing this modality to be a reckless disregard for human life and therefore the moral equivalent of a surgical or chemical abortion.

In a medical context, a drug that prevents fertilization (acts contraceptively) 95 to 99 times out of a hundred would be called a contraceptive rather than a abortifacient.
But in a moral context, when the outcome may be death, a drug may be treated as an abortifacient if there is even a 1% chance of it killing the embryo by preventing implantation.
