Humidity is measured by means of a hygrometer.
Thus cold air, while its moisture content is necessarily quite low (low absolute humidity), may be almost saturated with respect to the maximum amount of water vapor it is capable of holding (high relative humidity).
Conversely, hot air attended by high relative humidity "feels" warmer than it actually is because of an increased conduction of heat to the body combined with a lessening of the cooling effect afforded by evaporation.

Relative humidity (RH) is defined as the ratio of the amount of water vapor actually in the air to the amount the air could hold at a given temperature and pressure.
Humidity instruments and humidity sensors can sense a number of different factors and are available in a variety of forms, including digital humidity sensors and hi tech humidity sensors.
Absolute humidity, expressed as grams of water vapor per cubic meter volume of air, is a measure of the actual amount of water vapor or moisture in the air, regardless of the air's temperature.

For a given (additional info and facts about dewpoint) dewpoint and its corresponding (additional info and facts about absolute humidity) absolute humidity, the relative humidity will change inversely with the (The degree of hotness or coldness of a body or environment (corresponding to its molecular activity)) temperature.
Relative humidity is often mentioned in (A forecast of the weather) weather forecasts and reports, as it is an indicator of the likelihood of (The falling to earth of any form of water (rain or snow or hail or sleet or mist)) precipitation, dew, or fog.

Humidity - Encyclopedia.WorldSearch   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
Humidity is the quantity of moisture in the air.
It can be expressed as absolute humidity, which is the mass of water in a specific mass of air, or more commonly as relative humidity, which is the ratio of absolute humidity divided by that absolute humidity that would make dew form at the same temperature.
