 Kim Wilde Encyclopedia: ABC
A triumphant return for ABC came in 1987 with the release of the fourth album 'Alphabet city', containing no less than three Europe-wide hits: 'When Smokey sings', 'The night you murdered love' and 'King without a crown'.
The house-inspired album 'Up' was a commercial disaster, which could only be mitigated by the release of a Greatest Hits album, 'Absolutely' in 1990.
ABC was formed by Martin Fry (Born March 9th, 1958), Mark White (Born April 1st, 1961) and Stephen Singleton (Born April 17th, 1959).

 ABC Records Press Release
In 1975 John Mayall and band came to ABC Records and released the highly touted New Year, New Band, New Company and followed that outstanding album with Notice To Appear, produced by the New Orleans studio genius Allen Toussaint, later in the year.
Within a week we were in the studio working on our upcoming ABC LP A Hard Core Package, then off on a 3 month/12 country tour that received absolutely overwhelming audience response.
Now, with the release of Lots Of People, his first "live" LP for ABC, Mayall and his new fourteen piece band prove that the blues don't have to bring you down.

Amazon.com: Absolutely ABC: The Best of ABC: Music
After that first album, there were only two songs of note, "How to Be a Millionaire," and "When Smokey Sings," really worthy of inclusion here, which is probably when four of the tracks have been needlessly remixed to fill up the remaining space.
Most ABC releases tend to append remixes so it seems rather strange and pointless to include them here, but that's all minor quibbling.
It would have been nice to include the original demo for "Tears Are Not Enough" to show how quickly the band progressed and it's a bit strange they left out "Where is the Heaven?" from "Up" which was a pretty big club hit.

Jermaine Jackson also told BBC Three's Liquid News that the brothers were working on an album to be released to coincide with the tour, and that Michael was "absolutely on board".
Massive chart success followed with number singles I Want You Back, ABC and Let It Be, and the group were even immortalised in their own cartoon.
The Jackson Five were the brainchild of their parents, Joseph and Katherine, and were signed to the legendary Motown label by Berry Gordy in 1969 when Michael was just 10 years old.
