  Absolutely Live
This 1970 double LP proved to be about as good an approximation of the absolutely live last year and still uses it quite often.
A- One of the biggest reasons why I bought this absolutely live is the reputation it has.
Jims voice is pretty good and says pretty much all the right CD for you One of the biggest reasons why I bought this absolutely live is the reputation it has.

In Music We Trust - Blitzkrieg: Absolutely Live
The live record is a culmination of preparatory shows for Germany's popular -- aren't they all -- "Headbangers Open Air Festival" and features 17 cuts drawn from their replenished well.
"Absolute Power" was constructed to be everything Blitzkrieg should have been when they began, and even if it took them 20 years to get there, it's granted them the reprieve they needed to bang a dent in the odd Euro Fest or local club gathering.
Absolutely Live proves Blitzkrieg can still give the fans what they want, much of which includes the very early, and mostly new material, opting to steer clear of much of the tumultuous middle '90s stuff, though "Unholy Trinity" is a welcome, if short burst.

 The Doors Live In Detroit
The albums Absolutely Live, Alive She Cried, Live At The Hollywood Bowl and The Doors In Concert each offer various glimpses of the Doors' live experience but all present edited and sliced views of The Doors in concert.
The epic 1970 Absolutely Live offered a decent impression of an 'average' night at a Doors concert but fans, with the knowledge that the album was pieced together from several different performances, yearned to hear these concerts in unedited form.
Interestingly, Absolutely Live was planned to be representative of a typical night at a Doors concert yet the mood and convergence of spirits vary from performance to performance.

And the later "Live At Hollywood Bowl" is only an EP with less than 20 minutes on it and only two real songs: "Light My Fire" and "Unknown Soldier", the rest of the tracks being loose segments from "Celebration Of the Lizard", which you get on this release in its entirety.
The reason, the "In Concert" double disk has the live albums "Absolutely Live," "Alive She Cried" & "Live At The Hollywood Bowl" all in one package with one exception: an unreleased live version of 'The End' (the main reason to get that double disk just for that song alone!).
"Absolutely Live" well chronicles The Doors ability as a live band through some of their most blues based songs, as well as long epics displaying Morrison's poetry and the crews overall instrumental talent.

Christine Lavin : Absolutely Live - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
The 2000 re-issue of Christine Lavin's 1981 debut album underscored the extraordinary longevity and consistency of her career, which has been one of the most prolific in contemporary folk music.
When Lavin recorded Absolutely Live on June 29, 1981, she was still working a full time day job at New York's Bellevue Hospital.
She had yet to earn her reputation as a performer, opening the concert with a song centered on the premise that she, "an unknown bumpkin on her unknown guitar," could only win the attention of her audience by feigning terminal illness.

Channel4.com - SlashMusic - Absolutely Live   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
ABSOLUTELY LIVE was taped during a United State tour that took place between August 1969 and June 1970, and shows off The Doors' strengths as a live band and the way they kept sets interesting by including a broad cross-section of music.
Where else could you hear Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love" sidling up next to Kurt Weill's "Alabama Song?" Ray Manzarek's organ and John Densmore's drumming keep pace throughout as Robbie Krieger's guitar playing show him to be as much of a force in the Doors as Jim Morrison.
In truth, ABSOLUTELY LIVE does not measure up to the Doors' more meticulously crafted studio efforts, yet it includes material that doesn't appear elsewhere, and is a satisfying snapshot of the band's live show.

seen you live at the rory gallagher international tribute festival this year and i thought you were brillant.
My absolute favourite track on the CD is Never Say Die, which has a great message, but also cries out for a sizzling solo, which is sadly missed, though the bluesy between chord lick is very sweet.

Photos Of Ghosts - P.F.M. Absolutely Live 1971-1978
This album is a wonderful collection of live tracks covering P.F.M.'s live performances over the years.
"Absolutely Live" is slightly different than "10 Anni Live, 1971-1981" in that the fourth disc has added 'Electric Reflection', 'Storia in la', 'Acoustic Reflection' and 'Pennisula' and omitted the 1980-1981 tour ('Suonare Suonare', 'Maestro della voce', and 'Chi ha paura della noce').
Since these songs are also on "Performance" I consider "P.F.M. Absolutely Live" to be the collection to have.

March 15, 2002, the day of their first gig together, was the night when they decided to name the band, 'Absolutely!' The story is that they really had no idea what they were going to call themselves because pretty much anything would work just to suffice for the show.
I understand it must be difficult to perform when the members hold jobs, live in different areas, have family, friends, and girlfriends to spend time with, have school work, and a lot of things going on, but, I'm sure wondering if you have any plans on doing any shows this fall?
We, a band in the Bridesburg section of Phila., PA where drummer Steve was raised, are constantly booking shows at random halls and the such in the area, and you'd be more than welcome to perform with us when you're available.

The live versions of “Back Door Man,” “Alabama Song” and “Soul Kitchen” are good, but the studio versions smoldered with as much intensity.
When it was released, Absolutely Live was notable for inclusion of previously unreleased songs and covers -- “Who Do You Love,” “Universal Mind,” “Build Me A Woman,” “Close To You,” “Love Hides” -- none of it essential (well, maybe “Universal Mind”).

Casual fans might want live versions of some of the better known songs (most of which are not on "Livefields"), but they're unlikely to want to shell out for a double disc that could almost fit onto a single disc.

I was absolutely stunned to notice upon opening the package, staring me straight in the face, there it was, the entire decade of the '80s… and this thing, Alphaville, as synonymous with that once glorious decade as any title you can throw into the winds of yesterday…
Where they've been over the years is not something I'd hazard to guess but apparently Alphaville's stayed very active as their recent deluxe 8-disc, 125 song set-you read right, serves to indicate.
In fact they stand out so much more than the noise of the crowd-not that we'll assume Alphaville's audience ranks up there with the rowdiest of the world-you're almost wondering where everyone is until the song ends.

It is quite obvious that the actual concert included allot more tracks that Benson usually performs, which didn't make the DVD probably due to format constraints (the only thing missing unfortunately).

While this double disc (later combined with Alive, She Cried and Live at the Hollywood Bowl for CD release under the title In Concert) is valuable in that it contains material the Doors didn't release on their studio albums, it's also tilted toward some of their more boorish aspects.
Recorded at concerts in 1969 and 1970, this was an era in which Jim Morrison was becoming increasingly dissolute and increasingly disinterested in the whole rock machine.
