Absurd (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Absurd is one of the best-known National-Socialist fl metal bands in Germany.
In prison, Möbus was able to carry on with the band under the temporary name "In Ketten" (German for in chains), which, after the murder, became a cult band with Neo-Nazi groups.
The band members were released on parole in 1998, because they had been under eighteen when they committed their crime.

 Absurd or Ridiculous? You Decide
The phrase “bands with other” didn’t just stand alone; it was always followed by a creature type as in “bands with other Legends” or “bands with other Goblins.” (I know some of you just jumped out of your seats.
In a change from the regular banding rules, a non-banding creature couldn’t join that band either -- normally one of the uncool kids could be invited into the clique.
Banding would be more widespread, but most creatures who could band would only be able to do so with a small cluster of compadres.

Theatre of the Absurd is an artform utilizing the philosophy of Absurdism

 Absurd Reviews at Lunar Hypnosis
Of the bands in jail (although not Norwegian, but certainly Norwegian inspired), Absurd is a damn good one, with good and bad albums they know how to make unique rhythmic, atmospheric, and unique music.
Perhaps because of the bands violent history or perhaps just because of musical talent, these guys are able to make a unique and enjoyable album, although not as straight forward or universally appealing as other mainstream bands like Carpathian Forest or Marduk (those fuckers).
Since their formation in 1992, Absurd’s only real claim to fame is the original band member’s murder of a fellow school mate named Sandro Beyer in April 1993 (see Lords of Chaos book for more on that).

The History of Rock Music. Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band: biography, discography, reviews, links
The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band was one of the greatest groups in the history of British rock, despite the fact that they were essentially a cross between the music-hall of the 1950s and the theatre of the absurd.
While scenographically they went back to the theatre of the absurd, to Dadaism and futurism, their songs were all parodies of musical styles of the past, with lyrics that sent up various aspects of British life.
The Bonzo Band drew from every genre that came to hand, but in particular from everything that was "kitsch", from operetta to doo-wop vocal quartets, from TV commercials to old "78"s of the twenties, from Broadway musicals to swing, from rural folk music to military marches, from patriotic choruses to Merseybeat pop songs.

The show was simply a circus for the senses, complete with impressive individual musicianship, a dash of theatre of the absurd and a pinch of cultism to produce the spectacle that complimented the sound.

Absurd - German Black Metal/Hardcore Hybrid
Review: In boxy rhythms with marching cadences and anthemic melodies, Absurd have made a fusion of fl metal and the oi hardcore punk, in doing so infusing a classicist sense of ancient melody into violent resound, matching their themes of epic loss and conflict.
For Absurd's case a heavily Teutonic flavor is retained: romanticism meets almost mechanistic functionalism, meaning that hypnotic rhythms come up against vastly dissonant and unresolved phrases which cycle through poetics of emptiness versus intention.
Drums are a ticking machine churning at a throbbing pace with only the most basic structural divisions of song interrupting, pacing vocals alternating between a growled fl metal howl and a youthful clean vocal.

Many of you remember them as the progressive rock band with the nineteen minute epics from the 70s.
It wasn't even their biggest hit ever, "Owner of A Lonely Heart," that converted me, but the predominately acappella "Leave It." I'll argue to my dying day that 1983 ties 1958 for the best year in the history of music, and "Leave It" is part of the reason for that.
I mean, if you're going to name an OS after a crappy one-hit wonder band of the 90s, why not go with Right Said Fred or Merril Bainbridge instead of those guys who sang "Barbie Girl." I mean, even Aquaman was kind of the one hit wonder of the Superfriends.
