The minor difference between a meridian and the present R.A. of the relevant star is attributable to the proper motion of the star.
The sun temples, which were used as observatories, and the Pyramid city of the fifth Dynasty, including its annexes and located between Abu Gorab and Abusir (31º11 E.), correlate with the star mu Orionis.
This fact could mean that the southern Layer Pyramid of Zawiyet el Aryan (Chaba, 3rd Dynasty) served as an observation tower too, thereby fulfilling the same function as the Pyramid of Meidum (both located and constructed on the same meridian, 31°10 E.).
