Abu Bakr "r" interpreted the slaughtered animals to prophesize the death of many Muslims and the broken sword to signify the death of one of the Prophet’s "as" relatives.

Bayazid Bastami (Persian بايزيد بسطامى), also known as Abu Yazid Bistami or Tayfur Abu Yazid al-Bustami, (804-874CE) was a Persian Sufi born in Bostam (alternate spelling: Bastam), Iran.
Before him, Sufism was mainly based on piety and obedience and he played a major role in placing the concept of divine love at the core of Sufism.
Bistami was the first to speak openly of "annihilation of the self in God" (fana fi 'Allah') and "subsistence through God" (baqa' bi 'Allah).

One charismatic person was Abu Yazid Al Bistami (d.874) from northwest Iran who described his experience by using the ascent to Heaven of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).
The two named above also became associated with two schools of thought among the Sufis: Bistami was associated with what is called the “intoxicated” path and Junaid with the “sober” path.
Abu Sarraj (d.988) wrote his book Kitab al Sama’ and discussed the medicinal effects of listening to dhikr and in the process brought authority from Greek sources such as Hippocrates and Pythagoras, strengthening the tradition in which was established by the first Muslim philosopher Al Kindi (d.865).
