In Muslim's Sahih, it is narrated by `Abdul-Rahman ibn Abu Layla, al-Qasim ibn Mukhaymarah, Abu Salih, Tharr ibn `Abdullah, Sa`id ibn `Abdul-Rahman ibn `Abzi, Yahya al-Jazzar, Nafi` (a slave of Ibn `Umer), `Ata' ibn Abu Rabah, `Imarah ibn `Umayr, `Arrak ibn Malik, al-Sha`bi, Maymun ibn Mahran, al-Hasan al-`Arni, Mus`ab ibn Sa`d and `Ali ibn al-Husayn.
Abu Dawud al-Rahawi is quoted in Al-Mizan, too, to have heard Sharik saying, "`Ali is the best of creation; whoever denies this fact is kafir (apostate)."[6] What he meant, of course, is that `Ali is the best of all men excluding the Prophet (pbuh), as all Shi`as believe.
Abu Sulayman al-Darani has said: "I have never seen anyone more awe-stricken than al-Hasan son of Salih who stood up one night to recite Chaper 78 of the Holy Qur'an and fainted yet continued reciting till dawn." He was born, may Allah have mercy upon him, in 100 Hij.

Shura (consultation): The doctrine of Ahl Al-bayt
They then gave their oaths of allegiance to Abu Bakr as Khalifah after the Prophet (peace be upon him), which clearly shows that no clear meaning of Khilafah was deduced from the reported texts for Imam Ali or the non-existence of such text at that time.
Thus, their view of the two great companions, Abu Bakr and Umar, was positive, as they did not consider them as usurpers of the caliphate, left by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) as a matter to be resolved by consultation (Shura) among the Muslims.

Turath Theory of Arab Music by Ali Jihad Racy Maqam
Among the theatrical artists were the Syrian-born Abu Khalil al-Qabbani (1841-1902), who also performed at the Columbian World Fair in Chicago in 1893, and the Egyptian Shaykh Salamah Hijazi (1852-1917), a Sufi-trained singer and stage actor whose theatrical songs were heard on early recordings throughout the entire Arab world.
Also one of the most notable contributors to the science of music was Abu Nasr al-Farabi (died 950), known for his famous Kitab al-Musiqa al-Kabir, or Grand Treatise on Music, in which he presented various systems of pitch, including one diatonic tuning to which certain microtones, or "neutral" intervals, were added.
Used during the eighth and ninth centuries, these modes were frequently alluded to in conjunction with the song texts included in the monumental Kitab al-Aghani, or Book of Songs, by Abu al-Faraj al-Isfahani (died 967).

The classic story has been passed through 14 generations of illiterate storytellers from the village of Nakhli and relates the adventures of Abu Zayd, who was cast out of Arabia and led his al-Hilali tribe through many challenges to a new and better life in the Maghreb.
We hear the storytellers relate Abu Zayd's adventures while we observe the nostalgia of older Detroit Arabs again hearing verses they had only heard in their homelands.
ACCESS made the decision to bring the storytellers to the United States in the hope they would appeal to older generations and that their recitals would bring the emigrant and American-born generations together.
