Academic Decathlon is a competition where groups of 9 to 12 students from all grade point averages get together for months on end and study stupid, trivial information until they go clinically insane.
A typical Academic Decathlon team is made up of 9 to 12 people, one coach, and at least 3 dozen lucky charms which range from stuffed animals (cows, chickens, lobsters, etc.) to talking erasers.
Persons who pass the test with a score of ninety-five percent or better within the allotted time will then be able to receive an all expense paid trip for their entire Academic Decathlon team to the national competition, bypassing all other competitions.
