The Academy of Fine Arts (Finnish: Kuvataideakatemia) in Helsinki, Finland provides the highest university-level theoretical and practical training in the country in fine arts.
The Academy was founded in 1848 by a private foundation called The Art Society of Finland (fi: Suomen Taideyhdistys).
In the beginning of 1993 the status of the Academy was raised to university level.

In case funding is applied for from the Academy of Finland, all documents and annexes should be written in English observing the Academy's guide for applicants.The applicants may state their wish for the primary financer in case it is not the Academy.

Forest Academy Finland is a Finnish project aimed at supporting EU's commitment for sustainable forest management, and developing mutual exchange of views on forestry's role in socio-economic development, particularly in the new and applicant EU countries.
Through the Forest Academy Finland initiative Finland invited groups of top-level representatives of the forest sectors of the new and applicant countries of the EU to Finland for open brainstorming and exchanging information and experiences with major representatives of the Finnish forest sector, along with other European actors.
During 2003-04 four forums of Forest Academy Finland were arranged, resulting in the identification of European challenges for forest sector development, ideas for increased networking and cooperation in forest communication in Europe, and an international network of contacts for the future.

Studies completed at the Theatre Academy's Open University are accepted as part of the degree by the departmental professor's approval; theory-based subjects compensate as a whole according to the degree programme's courses; other subjects in such a way that they support the students' study plan.
The aim of postgraduate studies at the Theatre Academy is to produce new information and experience about theatre and dance, the problematics involved in artistic work and/or the teaching of these fields through the development of one's form of expression, artistic experimentation and research.

Jari S. Puhakka is a member of several ensembles and orchestras, including the Sixth Floor Ensemble, the Sibelius Academy Baroque Ensemble and the Finnish-Estonian Baroque Orchestra.
