		The faculty of Theology at Acadia is semi-autonomous from the University.
		The Acadia Advantage is an academic programme unique in Canada where each of the undergraduate (and many of the graduate) students receive laptop computers to use from September to May. Honours students may use their computers in the summer before their last year.
		The Acadia Advantage Programme has received recognition from the Smithsonian Institution, and is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

		When the dust settled on a fast-paced and wide-open game at Acadia Arena in Wolfville last night, the host Acadia Axemen skated away with an 8-4 victory over the Saint Mary's Huskies in Atlantic Universities Hockey Conference semifinal action before a crowd estimated at 2,000.
		But Acadia captain Robbie Sutherland potted the winner with 2:14 remaining in the frame and the Axemen proceeded to take over the game in the third period.
		Acadia scored three goals in a 4:56 stretch early in the third to put Saint Mary's completely out of reach.

		The Huskies were eliminated from the men's Atlantic Universities Hockey Conference playoffs last night, falling 5-2 to the Acadia Axemen before a crowd estimated at 2,500 at the Halifax Forum.
		Acadia swept the best-of-three semifinal series 2-0 and advanced to the final against the New Brunswick Varsity Reds.
		Acadia's John Ceci stopped 28 shots and made several big saves late in the second and in the third to preserve the lead.

		The 10th-ranked Acadia Axemen under head coach Jeff Cummins got slammed 57-10 by the second-ranked Laval Rouge et Or in Saturday’s Uteck Bowl national football semifinal at PEPS Stadium, failing miserably in their attempt to redeem a 34-7 loss on the same field during the regular season.
		The win is the Axemen's second Jewett Trophy victory in as many years under the leadership of fourth year head coach Jeff Cummins.
		Six Huskies and five Axemen have been selected, including 2005 Defensive Player of the Year Steve Faoro, 2005 Rookie of the Year Elliot Richardson and 2004 Lineman of the Year Kyle Markin from the Acadia Axemen.

		As part of the upgrades being made during the Acadia Advantage project, the Acadia Basketball pages have now been moved to a new, permanent location on another Acadia server.
		Acadia has also just installed a T1 connection that should speed connection time.

	Thunderwolves Hockey - News - Pool B Preview: Acadia Axemen
		The No.2 Acadia Axemen come into the CIS Telus University Cup championships as the AUS champions after sweeping the powerful UNB Varsity Reds in three straight games for the AUS title. Acadia posted a 19-8-1 conference mark and are 26-10-2 overall.
		The Axemen have played only Alberta of this year's Telus Cup opponents. The teams split the series with Alberta winning 3-2 on Dec. 29th and Acadia winning 5-4 on Dec. 30th.
		The Axemen are led by AUS MVP and Co-CIS Scoring Champion Kevin Baker, who notched 24 goals and 23 assists in regular season play. Centre Brandon Benedict is another serious threat for Acadia and recorded 10 goals and 22 assists this season (17th CIS; 8th AUS).

		Since the current AUFC playoff format was adopted in 2002, the Huskies have won all three championships with the bye.
		The X-Men, in particular, have been formidable at home and have wins over the Axemen and Huskies on their turf.
		In the only meeting between the two teams played in driving rain, Acadia went out front 12-0 before the X-Men turned on the run for 23 straight points.

		Marvin McCooty, a junior from Mississauga, Ont. was at his best on Saturday as the X-Men (4-1) defeated the Acadia Axemen (2-3) 23-14 to keep sole possession of first place in the AUFC.
		The 5-foot-11, 215-pound running back was handed the ball 36 times and responded with 230 yards and a key 40-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter that turned a 12-7 deficit into a 13-12 lead.
