The accentors are in the only (Warm-blooded egg-laying vertebrates characterized by feathers and forelimbs modified as wings) bird family, Prunellidae, which is completely endemic to the (Click link for more info and facts about Palearctic) Palearctic.
This small group of closely related (Perching birds mostly small and living near the ground with feet having 4 toes arranged to allow for gripping the perch; most are songbirds; hatchlings are helpless) passerines are all in a single genus Prunella.
This genus is not strongly (Click link for more info and facts about migratory) migratory, but they will leave the coldest parts of their range in winter, and make altitudinal movements.
