Talk:Limit point - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So, I suggest that limit point be used for what it is currently, and "accumulation point" for infinitely many (which is not the same as simply distinct -- consider Sierpinski space I believe).
The problem is that by defining limit point and accumulation point to mean the same thing, then all the articles and examples that involve non-T1 spaces immediately lose a piece of terminology to lose.
In other words, if articles have been using "accumulation point" when they really meant "limit point", there's no need to go back and change everything, or even to mention the distinction, so long as the articles in question are only discussing T1 spaces.

The hazardous waste must be accumulated at the initial accumulation point, which must be at or near the area where the waste is generated.
Such temporary interim storage will not disallow "satellite" accumulation of the waste, if the interim accumulation is necessary to the generating activity and if the waste is placed in the "satellite" accumulation area prior to the end of the work shift of the person generating the waste.
Satellite accumulation areas must be inspected on a weekly basis to insure that the containers are properly stored, not leaking, and that the area is in compliance with this section.

Such points are in A, so x is an accumulation point of A. These points are also in B, so x is an accumulation point of B. Thus, x is in the intersection of A' and B'.
Consider a point x in A which is not an accumulation point of A. There exists an open neighborhood about x which contains no other point of A, call it N. If x is an accumulation point of c(A) then N must contain a point of A' other than x.
Let y be a point of A' in N. The only point of A which is in N is x, so every neighborhood of y when intersected with N would give a neighborhood of y which must contain x.

For the solution of problems with exact point data with guaranteed high accuracy, fixed-point accumulation in a long accumulator is often required and clearly superior to floating-point accumulation.
The long accumulator is far easier to handle than a quadruple accumulator, because the long accumulator only operates on one data format which is double precision.
With the long accumulator a quadruple arithmetic is treated as a simple case of a multiple precision (staggered) arithmetic based on the double precision format.

Limit point   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
In mathematics, informally speaking, a limit point (or cluster point) of a set S in a topological space X is a point x in X that can be "approximated" by points of S other than x as well as one pleases.
We say that a point x in X is a limit point of S if every open set containing x also contains a point of S other than x itself.
Proof: We assume the fact that a point is in the closure of a set if and only if every neighbourhood of the point meets the set.

Firstly, I call it a “zone”, and not a decision to accumulate or distribute, because a decision or recommendation on my part is personal, and involves the study of a number of technical factors plus fundamental, quantitative, and macro-economic factors, whereas a zone is what I see in the market that other traders are doing.
And when you have finished accumulating (point 3), you can see the length of the period from cycle points 3 to 5 (start of distribution) is much longer in a rising trend, and shorter in a falling trend, than the end of a distribution zone (point 7) to the next point of accumulation (point 1).
So Accumulation can also refer to a strategy over a time frame, whereas a Buy is a tactic at a point in time.
