I have not tried Acer circinatum, but the USDA Seeds of Woody Plants Manual basically says this: 30-60 days at 70F followed by 90-180 days of 40F; mechanical rupture of the pericarp is recommended before stratification.
Please remember people in the Faroe Islands (like the rest of the world outside one country!) never use °F and won't have the faintest clue what those numbers mean.
