"Achduart" is a cluster of five houses too small to be termed a village village.
It is found a few miles South East of Achiltibuie Achiltibuie on the Coigach Peninsula of North Western Scotland Scotland, in the County of Cromartyshire Cromartyshire.

This was a walk of two halves; a strenuous and exhilarating walk along a path to Achduart was followed by an enjoyable road walk northwestwards to Altandhu.
I was glad when the terrain levelled off and I could follow a good path past Culnacraig and on towards the road at Achduart.
As I was walking along the path I found that I could get Radio 5 for the first time in two weeks, and so with great joy I could listen to the end of the Formula One race from Germany.

The first section of the historical footpath linking Achduart and Strathcanaird on the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s (SWT) Ben Mor Coigach Estate was officially opened to the public today (28 August 2004) by David Green, Chairman of the Crofters Commission (CC).
This is the first phase of a £90,000 investment which will see the breathtaking 10 kilometre link between Achduart and Strathcanaird repaired, so that visitors and locals can enjoy one of Scotland’s most dramatic coastal paths.
The path, traditionally described as Gabhail a Creig (Gaelic for ‘taking the Rock’) is named after the 743 metre-high mountain traditionally known as “The Rock” that dominates the landscape on SWT’s largest estate.

This small community is on the path between Acheninver and Achduart on the south west coast of Coigach.
In the 1881 census it was enumerated as "Cammasnacarrian", Cammas refering to the bay on Horse Sound below the village.

John Alec himself died just three years ago and his son, Iain, also a singer, grandchild and great-grandchild, soon to be great-grand-children, still live on the peninsula..
Kenny John, also remained on the peninsula with Ruth, his wife, living in the old school house in Achduart until his death in 1985.
In 1952 he married Ruth Brock, a war widow who had bought the old schoolhouse in Achduart, near Achiltibuie and where together they created a delightful garden.
