As long as you current limit the output of the generator so you don't blow the gensets circuit breaker you could get a fairly good boost.
I think it depends on the range of the EV without the > generator, and the length of the trip.

It's great to get on the sticks in your home when the weather absolutely prohibits outdoor flying.
I will have the MS CP retrfit kit soon and I look forward to having that rectify the achilles heel with my Hornet.
My most frequent crashes have been outdoors in windy weather where despite my anticipating the fact that the heli flies so well that the rpms can get way too low just to bring it down, I still do it, usually at the end of the flight as the pack loses some "poop".
