This is the first album by Acoustix since they lost one of their original members of the International SPEBSQSA championship group.
Plus, the gentlemen of Acoustix are masters of the barbershop tag ending, pulling and melding notes until it rings in the rafters.
Overall, this is a strong jazz CD by four talented men (along with a few added vocals and instruments) but I would really like to see Acoustix take the talent that they have and further challenge themselves with a greater variety of arrangements as well as tougher ones.

Acoustix has always impressed me (see RARB Picks of '98) because they could take arrangements and songs that I wasn't particularly fond of and sing them with such unwavering musicality and commitment, that I couldn't help but be drawn in and blown away.
Acoustix, a group that started as a championship caliber (and championship winning) barbershop quartet and continued to diversify into jazz on their last album,
Acoustix, for the most part, is a very well sung, very well produced Christmas album that would still work best in the background, but there are a couple exceptions.

 A Cappella News: Acoustix sings anthem at NBA Finals
International barbershop champions Acoustix got to sing the national anthem at the 7th and final game of the NBA Playoffs last night with their performance being televised worldwide.
This fabulous quartet is actually no stranger to the arena as they have been singing the anthem for the Mavericks for the past 16 years including performing most all recent home games of the team.
They are in fact considered to be somewhat of a lucky mascot and apparently the powers-that-be at the Mavericks made a special call to the NBA to ask that Acoustix be allowed to sing as usually only big celebrity artists gets to sing at such a prestigious event.
