The Warsaw Pact continued through most of the Cold War era, came to an end on March 31, 1991, and was officially dissolved at a meeting in Prague on July 1, 1991.
Warsaw Pact forces were utilised at times, such as during the 1968 Prague Spring, when they invaded Czechoslovakia to put down the reform movement that were being led by Alexander Dubček's government.
The pact was officially dissolved at a meeting in Prague on July 1st, 1991.

Lebanon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lebanon's unwritten National Pact of 1943 required that its president be a Christian and its prime minister be a Muslim.
The pact included a promise by the Christians not to seek French protection and to accept Lebanon's "Arab face", and a Muslim promise to recognize independence and legitimacy of the Lebanese state in its 1920 boundaries and to renounce aspirations for union with Syria.
The pact also stipulated that seats in the Parliament would be allocated by religion and region, in a ratio of 6 Christians to 5 Muslims, a ratio based on the 1932 census, which was taken at a time when Christians still had a slight majority.

Both George and Joe were 15 years old and still attending school, at the time the "Heathrow Touchdown" EP came out in October, 1981.
The 2 tracks, London Bouncers and All Purpose Action Footwear, got the attention of Radio 1 DJ John Peel.
The reponse was sufficient enough to make it on Fall Out Records, which made it their first signings and their debut release "Suicide Bag"EP which was labeled on July 1982, which rocketed to the top of the Punk charts.

Sloan: Action Pact - PopMatters Music Review
Action Pact is riff-heavy, with rhythm guitars constantly dueling it out with the beat against the backdrop of steady bass.
What most distinguishes Action Pact from its predecessors is that, while bassist Chris Murphy and guitarists Patrick Pentland and Jay Ferguson take turns on songwriting and corresponding lead vocal duties (drummer Andrew Scott took a vacation from these duties to raise a newborn), the album sounds remarkably consistent from beginning to end.
Action Pact marks a departure for Sloan both in producer [not their good friend Brenndan McGuire] and production: on this album, individual sounds and instruments do enjoy neither sonic distinction nor clarity.

Pretty Together - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pretty Together is the sixth album by Canadian rock group Sloan.
It was released on Murderecords in 2001, and is often seen as the band's most mature album.
While it still has the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1990s influences of Between the Bridges, it is more melancholy with fewer of the upbeat songs found on previous albums.

Review: Sloan - Action Pact - Film Junk
With this, their 7th full length album, they’ve settled into that predictable groove that canonly be reached by bands that are in it for the long haul.
Action Pact is, for the most part, a middle of the road rock record.
The album’s best songs are probably the power pop moments of “False Alarm” (an unexpected one from Jay Ferguson) and “I Was Wrong” (Patrick’s always got a few of these up his sleeve), which sound more like Guided By Voices or some other vaguely familiar indie rock band than Sloan.

It was around Sloan's third album One Chord to Another when they started having these iconic-looking photos of themselves on their album covers, photos that made them look like proper Rock Stars.
It was around that same time that their albums shifted into classic-rock mode, when the group took their British-Invasion style melodic pop-rock songs and beefed them up with extra-thick guitars and a "we're gonna rock you off your ass until you can't stand up" attitude.
Action Pact is no great leap forward, but it is a splendid rock album that you can turn up and sing along to without feeling like an idiot.

"Action Pact" expands upon Sloan's muscular leanings, due primarily to the band's decision to hire a producer for the first time in its history.
Nonetheless, "Action Pact" is a streamlined album, recorded with minimal overdubs (read: no keyboards), which opens in the classic Sloan one-two punch with "Gimme That" and "Live On" by songwriters Chris Murphy and Patrick Pentland, respectively.
"Action Pact" is another step ahead for Sloan, which is an achievement they should be proud of considering the superb quality they've shown for the better part of a decade.

Though it's been some time since I've called myself a Sloan "fan" (far too many identical, retro riff-rock albums over the last several years for my decidedly non-'70s-arena-rock tastes), the Halifax four-piece are still, somewhat incredibly, on a slow march toward the kingship of Canadian rock.
This album will probably be there hardest sell, considering there is nothing distinct on it, to separate them from the legions of similar bands, saturating the market.
Album is okay as most most songs by them, but nothing to put you over the edge...

Now, we`ve read a bit about this one from Sloan fans....it being their rawk album or Sloan Cloan Again, that sort of thing.
And every one of those songs is brimming with catchy choruses, crunchy guitars, bittersweet melodies, stacks o`harmony and enough hooks to outfit an art gallery.
Action Pact, their seventh studio album in a decade, follows the recipe like an anal-retentive chef.

Whether this album warrants purchase can be decided from the second song: The lyrics are, "You know you're wrong," the excess is converted into cowbell, and the guitar snaps into a deceptively simple circle that can accumulate a few brief moments of melancholy amidst the glee.
While clearly embracing the emotive rush of youth, Action Pact is made by adults who like to rock.
Action Pact has all the flash, fancy guitar work, and thrilling harmony you'd expect from Sloan.

Auralgasms Artist - Sloan - Bio
Sloan's new album, Action Pact, is very much a Sloan record -- in that it sounds nothing like its predecessor.
You've heard Pretty Together -- Action Pact is Totally Together, a record that reins in the open-ended experimentation of past albums into a tightly wound, fiercely focused, breathlessly relentless set of riff-o-ramic rock 'n' roll wherein the band's inner Paul Stanley and Paul McCartney come together in perfect harmony.
The resultant record speaks to the wham-bam-fuck-you-man approach : 12 songs in 39 minutes that are so incessant in their ass-kicking, you barely notice one important little anomaly - Action Pact is the first Sloan record without any writing or singing contributions from Andrew Scott.

 Sloan: Action Pact Aversion.com Review
After 13 years as a band, Action Pact, its seventh full-length, essentially does everything the trio?s done since Navy Blues (1998, Murder Records), namely busting up Beatlesque power pop with dashes of arena-ready mid-?70s rock and a touch of the indie-band spirit.
For anyone reared on rock radio, Action Pact is a pretty schnazzy record, as Sloan?s obviously done its homework and makes no bones about proudly placing its influences on its sleeve.
On Action Pact, more than any other Sloan disc, the band isn?t laying itself on the line as much as perfecting its blend of rock masters.

Review: Sloan | Action Pact (Vik Recordings/BMG) by Matt Dornan
Produced by Tim Rothrock (Elliott Smith, Beck, Badly Drawn Boy), this is the most straight-ahead rock album from the Canadian quartet since their 1992 debut, ‘Smeared’.
Similarities end there, however; ‘Action Pact’ is no return to the Sloan of old, MBV-meets-grunge template.
Instead embellishment is kept to a minimum and the upbeat, guitar-heavy songs come to the fore, exemplified by the opening brace of Gimme That and Live On.
