Hounslow Town station was built in early 1883 at the western terminus of the Hounslow and Metropolitan Railway Company's line from Acton to Hounslow.
In 1886 a new station on the Hounslow Barracks line called Heston-Hounslow was opened and the service to Hounslow Town was withdrawn.
Its life was short, however, as in May 1909 Heston-Hounslow station on the main line was renamed Hounslow East and the old station closed for good.
