	Acura EL - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Acura EL was a small family sedan by Honda based on the extremely popular Civic sedan, and was available only in Canada.
		It was re-designated the 1.7 EL in 2001 to correspond with the redesigned Civic.
		The Acura EL was replaced for the 2006 model year by the Acura CSX, based on the redesigned 2006 Honda Civic.

		The EL is based on the Civic sedan, but has different exterior styling and interior trim, more luxury features like automatic climate control and optional leather upholstery, standard side airbags, and standard four wheel disc brakes with ABS.
		Starting at $22,200 for the EL Touring model with a five speed manual transmission, the EL is $700 more than a top-of-the-line Civic Si sedan which doesn't have rear disc brakes, automatic climate control or side airbags - but does have a standard moonroof.
		Acura is also offering an "Aero package" this year that includes a lower front spoiler, side sills and rear spoiler.

		Acura is NOT Lexus or BMW, you aren't paying for the badge, so it doesnt really add to the price, however it is more than a USDM civic EX sedan cause it has a few more features.
		My new EL has all the features of a fully loaded '05 Civic Sedan plus heated leather, rear discs, climate control, fog lights, and a few other minor things and technically it came out cheaper because here the Civic is going for 4.9% and the EL was 2.8%.

		The EL's low hoodline and large side windows provide excellent forward and lateral visibility, and the rear deck, though high, is not as high as in many sedans, so it provides adequate rear visibility.
		The EL's body feels very tight, the steering is quick and responsive, and handling is quite nimble - the EL's standard 15 inch tires are larger than the Civic's standard 14 inch tires and have better grip.

		Acura never needed to fool anyone, the EL was priced well enough to sell on it's own.

		I hate the snow!!!! mind you, you get that in the eastern part of the states also, as for the acura you were talking about, I see one almost every day on my way to school, they are basically the same as a 4 door civic but with an acura label.....it's nothing special
		They running out of names I guess....At least Honda puts the liter of the engine at the end though, like El 1.6, TL 3.5 but I'm sure most people don't have a clue that's what that means, maybe they think it's the version......
