The Acura MDX (Honda MDX in Japan and Australia) is a midsize SUV built by Honda of Canada Manufacturing Ltd. in Alliston, Ontario, Canada.
Little changed for the MDX during the 2006 model year with a few minor revisions to the vehicle's chrome and faux wood interior trim.
The MDX won the North American Truck of the Year award for 2001.

The Acura MDX may not be the most off-road-ready of sport utility vehicles, but it could be the most perfect compromise between the various facets sport, utility, and luxury.
I was fortunate enough to receive the MDX just before the worst snow storm of the year (a typical springtime where I live), a fabulous opportunity to try it under the conditions for which it was designed.
Creature comforts abound in the MDX, as would be expected, from power everything to automatic climate control, keyless entry, a very good-sounding 6 disc CD stereo (with in dash changer), and a center console with an abundance of handy configurations, including a nifty serving tray for those in the middle row of seats.

Because the MDX has such a wide body, the cargo area is very wide - about 1.2 metres (four feet) wide between the wheelhousings - and the cargo opening is over 0.9 metres (three feet)high.
The MDX already has traction control and all-wheel-drive - the latter runs mostly in front-wheel-drive, but this year is designed to send more torque to the rear wheels when the front wheels slip.
As you can see, the MDX is one of the least expensive, but has more horsepower than all but the V8-powered Lincoln Aviator, and is one of only two with standard seven passenger seating.

 Front spring failure on 2001 MDX - Honda-Acura.net
The Dealership - Erin Mills Acura - also say there is nothing they can do although we bought it there for $50,000 and have had every service done there - they didn't even offer to cover part of the costs so i guess they have lost a customer.
I will be posting on all the Acura forums i can find I see at least a couple of other people who have had this problem but i welcome input from anyone who has had spring failure on a Honda of any type.
Acura said repairs are out of my pocket, and would not even cover the cost to have it towed to a dealer to be looked at.
