Adam Aircraft is leasing 22,000 square feet at the Kemp Jet Services terminal at the 47-acre business park owned by Kemp Development Co. Adam said the company could do final assembly on 40 to 50 aircraft per year but has room for operations to increase.
Adam Aircraft, which is based in Colorado, could bring as many as 300 new jobs to the Ogden area.
Adam noted that the Department of Labor estimates that for every aerospace manufacturing job created, three supporting jobs also are created.

The Adam A700 AdamJet is a six-seat civil utility aircraft currently under development.
The aircraft has been developed in parallel with the generally similar Adam A500, although while that aircraft is piston-engined, the A700 is powered by two Williams FJ33 turbofans.
As with the earlier-designed A500 piston-engined model, the A700 features a straight tapered wing, a central fuselage, and twin wing-mounted booms which support aft twin rudders linked by a high horizontal stabilizer.

Two VLJ models–the Eclipse 500 and (as a nonconforming prototype) the Adam A700 AdamJet–are currently engaged in test flying, and four more (the Cessna Citation Mustang, Excel-Jet Sport-Jet, Tam-Air Epic Jet and Diamond D-Jet) are expected to ply the skies by year-end.
The A700 is a twinjet derivative of the Englewood, Colo. company’s A500 centerline-thrust piston twin; the piston airplane was slated to earn FAA approval this month.
Adam told AIN that S/N 002, the aerodynamics and engine test aircraft, is scheduled to start flying in the third quarter, while S/N 003 (systems test aircraft) could join the test fleet in the fourth quarter.

Both Adam Aircraft and the new venture will be first to market in this closely-followed aviation segment, with FAA certification and first delivery of the A700 in the first quarter of 2005.
