Adam Troy Dunn (born November 9, 1979 in Houston, Texas), is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds.
Adam Dunn's most productive season came in 2004, when he posted career highs in batting average (.266), home runs (46), RBI (102), runs (105), hits (151), doubles (34), on base percentage (.388), slugging average (.569) and OPS (.957).
Dunn later donated the bat he used to hit the walk-off grand slam to the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.

Dunn is not untouchable, but he is the biggest producer on this team offensively and you can’t give that away.
Dunn rarely connects on the outside pitch and the HR if often when the Reds are winning.
Dunn has nothing but upside left in his career and K would be constantly second guessed everytime the Reds faced the Astros.

I think Dunn is rapidly approaching a career crisis in that sometime soon his defense, etc. will become SO bad that the team will be forced to confront whether he has legitimate value.
Even if Dunn is everything you say he is, it's not the end of the world, he's not the first talented baseball player to piss his career away and he won't be the last.
Adam Dunn would not be the first guy to eat himself out of the major leagues, but then again, he has already earned north of $13 million playing baseball.

Dunn does strike out a ton, but has a very high OB% which alot of people would agree is the most important stat of all.

I agree we shouldn't mortgage the future for now; However, Dunn would be with us for at least 2 more years, plus he's a houston native who has made no secret of his desire to play for the 'stros.
His on base percentage is high and he is a legitimate 40 HR man. It appears that he should be a first baseman, so a bigger issue for the Astros should be whether Berkman is a long term outfielder or whether he needs to move permanently to first.
