Adam Goren - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Goren was born in the Bronx on January 14, 1975, but grew up in the town of Oreland, Pennsylvania.
Goren would also go on to earn a Master's degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania, and to become certified to teach high school chemistry and biology.
At one point, Goren gathered a small band to do actual punk covers of his songs, and he released an EP of a live performance with this band, calling it "Atom and His Rockage." He completed tours in several countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Belgium, England, and Australia.

Goren's wacky demeanor aside, in a scene built on stripped-down ideals, sequencers seem like a bourgeois transplant from the clinical disco songs that punk rock originally attempted to overthrow.
The terminally wacky Goren is unable to control himself from futzing around with the cheap gas station merchandise, ill-functional 8-ball fortune-telling devices, five-dollar "rock star" necklaces, beer cozies that read "I'm busy, you're ugly," and google-eyed stuffed "love bug" toys.

Judaism 101 - Rabbi Shlomo Goren - A Glossary of Basic Jewish Terms and Concepts - OU.ORG
One of the most memorable moments of the Six-Day War of June, 1967, was Rabbi Goren blowing the “Shofar” at the “Kotel,” the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
Because he had been there at the time, he immediately understood that because in the summer of 1929, the local Arabs had massacred 67 Jews and wounded many others, primarily at the Hebron Yeshiva, the current Arabs were afraid that the Jews would take revenge, and had chosen to surrender.
Rabbi Goren, single-handedly, thus “captured” a city of some 80,000 Arabs, while the Army was still planning its attack.

Indeed, it is Morse that Goren resembles most - both are extremely bright, although Goren works only in homicide, both bear the greater intellectual burden in their partnerships and both appear to have a certain misfortune in their personal lives.
It is, then, often fascinating to watch Goren begin to make sense of the murky world in which a murder has been committed but unlike those cops whose soul often turns as fl as the murderers they meet with every case, Goren takes a certain childish pleasure in each investigation.
Goren may well be the star of the show and of each investigation but, like the other series, he's supported by a justice system that includes not only fellow police officers - his partner, Detective.

Goren has had a good run in the punk rock underground with his quirky, offbeat sensibility, but his absence won't be missed.

Somewhere between cartoony novelties, pissed-off political screeds and oddball memoirs, Goren's songs tackle such scattershot topics as grandparents, Enya, littering and shoplifting, racism in sports, the metric system and homosexuality in heavy metal.
In the latter, Goren explains his reasons for Atom's start (the ease of being a one-man band) and finish (the birth of his first child and being diagnosed with diabetes).

Adam became Atom and his equipment was elevated to backing band status when Fracture took after their name in 1995.
The abrasive, punky feel remained a staple of his new sound while his lyrics evolved into an often amusing, occasionally controversial form of social commentary.
