		Und es gehört zu den Vorzügen der Arbeit, dass Stegerwald keineswegs eindimensional für die Traditionsbildung der Gewerkschaften und/oder der Unionsparteien in Anspruch genommen wird, was nur um den Preis einer Leugnung oder Ausblendung der Defizite und Widersprüche in den Positionen Stegerwalds gelänge.

		Politisches Engagement diente bei einem Stegerwald eben noch weniger der Befriedigung persönlicher Eitelkeiten, sondern wurzelte wesentlich in der Leidenschaft für die richtige Sache.
