GENUKI: White's Directory 1853 - Holme Pierre Pont
Holme Pierrepont Parish comprises the hamlets of Adbolton, Bassingfield, Holme, Pierrepont and Lamcote, with part of Gamston township, which is mostly in West Bridgford parish.
Adbolton, 2 miles west of Holme Pierrepont, and 3 miles south-east by east of Nottingham, was once a separate parish.
The manor of Adbolton was long held of the honour of the Peveril, by the Strelley family, but in 1598 it was granted by Queen Elizabeth to Sir Henry Pierrepont, and now belongs to his descendent, Earl Manvers.

Regular grass mowing is necessary to maintain the variety of wild flowers and other plants.

Nottinghamshire: history and archaeology | Articles - Notts Villages: Holme Pierrepont (1)
Holme may have been a small village under the Saxon and Danes, and there was a church near by at Adbolton where the inhabitants of this settlement may have worshipped.
It is likely that the inhabitants of Holme, in common with those of such parts, of Gamston and Adbolton as belonged to this manor, would benefit little from the change of ownership.
Towards the close of the 14th century, the church was replaced by a new and doubtless larger one, of which the embattled tower, the arcade, the head of a two-light window in the north wall at the western end, and the font survive.
