Adder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For an electronic adder, see Adder (electronics); for the Russian air-to-air missile that goes by the NATO reporting name "Adder," see Vympel R-77.
Most snakes called adders belong to the family Viperidae, more precisely to subfamily viperinae (by contrast to pit vipers).
An exception is the Australian Death adder, which despite its name is not a viperid at all, but rather a member of the cobra family, Elapidae.

 Adder (Vipera berus)
In Victorian times the Adder was described as not abundant in the county, being absent from alluvial areas and mainly found in sandy or stony places.
The Adder is the only native snake having elliptical, as opposed to round pupils.
The Adder is typically found in heathland and moorland but in Warwickshire it is associated with railway embankments, rough grassland and scrub.

If the inputs to the 0th adder stage are available at time 0, it takes one gate delay to compute the propagate and generate signals and two gate delays to compute the sum.
Once the carry-in to a 4-bit adder is known, the internal carry look-ahead logic computes the sums in four more gate delays for the lowest-order stage and three gate delays in the higher-order adder stages.
For example, a 64-bit adder can be constructed from sixteen 4-bit adders, four 4-bit carry look-ahead units at the second level, and a single 4-bit carry look-ahead unit at the third level.

Adders hunt by scent, tracking their prey then striking their larger victims with a poisonous bite which may take a few minutes to have its deadly effect.
Man is one of the Adder's major enemy with his predilection to kill them on sight, and destry their habitat through continued urbanisation.
Hedgehogs capable of withstanding high dosages of poison are also a great threat to Adders, biting the snake, curling up so the snake is faced with a wall of spikes, biting, curling, biting until the snake is dead and can be eaten.

Adders were recorded in the Cheshire region in the 1950s, although there seem to be only two records documented, neither of which make up any part of the post 1995 picture.
The adder is found in a variety and may crop up virtually anywhere, but dry grassland, scrub, heathland, moorland and open woodland are favourite.
Adders are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Schedule 5, Section 9, against intentional killing or injury.

In electronics, an adder is a device which will perform the (A component that is added to something to improve it) addition, S, of two numbers.
Although adders can be constructed for many numerical representations, such as (Click link for more info and facts about BCD) BCD or (Click link for more info and facts about excess-3) excess-3, the most common adders operate on binary numbers.
The purpose of the carry input on the full-adder is to allow multiple full-adders to be chained together with the carry output of one adder connected to the carry input of the next most significant adder.

 Howstuffworks "How Boolean Logic Works"
The difference between a full adder and the previous adder we looked at is that a full adder accepts an A and a B input plus a carry-in (CI) input.
This definitely is not the most efficient way to implement a full adder, but it is extremely easy to understand and trace through the logic using this method.
Now we have a piece of functionality called a "full adder." What a computer engineer then does is "fl-box" it so that he or she can stop worrying about the details of the component.

Carry Look Ahead Adder   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
The 4-bit adder you designed and implemented in the previous lab is called a ripple-carry adder because the result of an addition of two bits depends on the carry generated by the addition of the previous two bits.
The carry-lookahead adder can be broken up in two modules: (1) the Partial Full Adder, PFA, which generates Si, Pi and Gi as defined by equations 3, 4 and 9 above; and (2) the Carry Look-ahead Logic, which generates the carry-out bits according to equations 5 to 8.
For that reason, carry-look-ahead adders are usually implemented as 4-bit modules and are used in a hierarchical structure to realize adders that have multiples of 4 bits.

Uberadder: for x4 the cost of the adder size (ie for any applicable 5 point adder you need to spend 20 points) at which point you may have any 1 adder of the right size or smaller applied to the power.
Since Variable Advantage has you paying double, I would guess that something like "Variable Adder: 10 points, allows any single 5-point adder to be applied and changed from use to use," might work.
Otherwise you could apply more Adders than the cost for nothing (as in Shape Shift where there are lots and lots of Adders).
