Lennox and Addington County, Ontario is a county and census division of the Canadian province of Ontario.
Unlike most county mergers in the 19th century, Lennox and Addington was a full amalgamation of the two counties into a single government.
Around the middle of the 19th century, the Addington Road was built by the province to encourage settlement in the northern sections of the county.

In 1800, it was merged with Lennox County to form the united county of Lennox and Addington.

Addington Highlands also requested from North Frontenac a related complementary bylaw; however, by this time, North Frontenac already had the Kent appointment in place through its August 27 bylaw.
As a note of interest, Addington Highland’s bylaw appointing the interim chief did not get passed on September 4; instead, it was tabled to council’s next meeting on September 17.

Symonds, indeed, became in no common sense a citizen of the town; he took part in its municipal business, made friends with the peasants, and shared their interests.

Based on a joint verbal agreement, North Frontenac’s Council appointed Ken Kent to the position by bylaw, but Addington Highlands Council subsequently withdrew its support of the agreement and served notice that it intended to appoint an interim Chief from within the Department.
Casey Cuddy, who has been held out by Addington Highlands Council as a potential interim Chief, reported that the Department already has a number of training facilitators.
That working meeting is not open to the public, but when the group brings its recommendations back to the Joint Board as a whole, results of the meeting will be reported upon.

FLINTON — The Ernie Eves government is investing $74,700 to support business and marketing initiatives to stimulate new investment and create jobs in the Land O’Lakes area, Dr. Doug Galt, MPP for Northumberland, announced today on behalf of Ernie Hardeman, Associate Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing responsible for Rural Affairs.
The Township of Addington Highlands and its partners will use the funds to develop a strategy to promote the Land O’Lakes area as an ideal investment location for the construction of hotels, resorts and other tourism infrastructure, creating jobs and expanding its local hospitality industry.
