		The original section of the path was built upon the riverbank levee at Ohio University in Athens, on university land.
		The greatest part of the bike path is a "rail trail", or bikepath built on an abandoned railroad grade.
		The eastern terminus of the bike path is near the Pepsi plant on the east side of Athens, Ohio, on East State Street, and its western terminus is at Robbins' Crossing at Hocking College in Nelsonville.
