Strange-Haven.com News -- Iron Man and Marvel's Young Gun Adi Granov
Granov couldn't reveal too many details about what's coming up in the story, but we do have - among other things - his take on the characters, information on how he came to be a Young Gun, and his thoughts on working with Ellis.
Granov is excited to be working on this project for many reasons.
Granov is hoping by the time the first issue comes out he'll be far enough ahead on the art to have a completely uninterrupted run.

Adi Granov's painted artwork is nothing short of phenomenal.
The art of Adi Granov is outstanding (Hyperealistic), the plot is really good but a litle slow for my taste, and I think I really wanted more fight scenes.
Adi Gravnov is a brilliant artist, and his skills really brought the story to life.

COMICON.com: GRANOV on IRON MAN ART DELAYS
While this is true, it is up to the publishing house to decide whether or not to change their policy when dealing with late artists and writers.
There must be something about either Granov's art or something in his contract that is keeping him on Iron Man rather than having fill in artists (like in the New X-Men run when Quietly feel behind).
The point I was trying to make is there is a generation of artists out there who knew how to tell a story, could do thumbnails, layout, pencil and manage to be sure they got their work done on deadline.

With Warren Ellis and Adi Granov taking over Iron Man, Marvel decided it was once more time to re-launch the series at number one.
I'm not a huge fan of Adi Granov's art or any digital art in general, but I will say Granov is one of the top digital artists in the business today.
Warren Ellis' writing is some of the best around and Adi Granov's art is only the start of digitally constructed comic books, so expect this style to get continue to get better.

IRON MAN #2
Warren Ellis and Adi Granov's Tony Stark is a dead ringer for Tom Cruise, talks about cell phones all the time and visits flamboyant old scientist friends who get their inspirations from homegrown mushrooms and iPods.
Granov's painted art still has a slightly stiff and "glazed" look about it.
On the other hand, he's doing a remarkably good job, though, considering that the whole issue consists of people in shirts and suits talking, which, frankly, isn't something you'd expect to be among his strengths when you first see his style.

Adi Granov’s art is nothing less than stunning, from the photorealism of the faces and settings to action and horror.
There are strong scenes of violence in the story, from the side effects of the virus to Mallen’s roasting of FBI officers, the impact of which Granov enhances several times over.

The new creative team is Warren Ellis and Adi Granov, an unusual duo in some respects.
Ellis has never exactly been a big fan of superheroes, and Granov's computer-enhanced art is time-consuming, making him an awkward choice for a monthly title.
But Granov's art is ideally suited to the character.

On one level Iron Man and Tony Stark are all about technology and the future and Granov’s style merges with that very well but Stark is a man of deep passions and Ellis presents Iron Man here as his escape valve.

Now, I wouldn't go so far as to call Iron Man "illustrator" (as he's called in the credits) Adi Granov a great artist, but his computer-game-style artwork suits the character and tells the story well, giving Ellis's script a solid stage on which to play itself out.
Granov's work is at its most awkward here, with some faces looking particularly artificial and video-gamey.
Granov's storytelling skills appear limited at this point, but not so awkward and amateurish that I am ready just yet to write him off.

Adi Granov is my favorite artist to emerge in the comics industry in quite some time.

Speaking of his design work, Granov said that he chose first-off to make sure that the armor had a circular light on the chest, since the triangle never worked for him.

If Ellis and Granov couldn’t have gotten a (non-trade-friendly!) seventh issue together, it would have at least been nice if there were a few extra pages to wrap up some of the much needed closure.
All in all, I could feel Ellis and Granov sprinting for the finish-line throughout the whole issue.
It was a shame, and I feel like it was less due to their own weaknesses, but more due to the consistent lateness of the book forcing them to take a final bow before they were ready.

In my opinion it is at least better than what Finch did with the armor when he drew it (and I beleive it is essentialy the same armor) in new avengers.

Just wrapped up the first two installments of Warren Ellis and Adi Granov's new Iron Man. Honestly I wasn't exactly looking forward to this.
I think (think, mind you) that it's conventional 2D with Granov then doing computer work for coloring, lighting and F/X. I'm not about to place a wager on that, though.
However he does it, the technical precision is perfect for an Iron Man story, and the darker tones complement the mood of the story.

Iron Man #3 Review - Silver Bullet Comics
Of course this is due almost entirely to Adi Granov’s cinematic style of artwork rather than Ellis script work.
There is something truly awe-inspiring about Granov’s work, and the issue reads more like a movie than a comic book with explosions, car crashes and super powered upper-cuts.
While some fans may quibble over Granov’s ultra-realistic approach to comic books they are a refreshing change from the parodied style of art that seems to be frequenting the Marvel bullpen as of late.

I credit Adi Granov’s first six issues — whose beautiful work still adorns current Iron Man covers — with causing complete removal of Iron Man from people’s pull lists.
I say this not because of his art, but because I don’t even recall how long it took those first six issues to be released thanks to Granov’s lack of punctuality.
The art chores can’t compare to what Adi Granov brought to the book on his six issues, but there is that constant battle between quality and timeliness.

Adi Granov, who seems to be the real villain of the piece for Iron Man fans -- taking the majority of blame for the non-prodigious and heavily delayed publication output -- is a very talented artist.
However what's most disappointing is while comic fans have stuck with this title, it appears Ellis and Granov have not.
If this is the case most fans would have settled for this being a mini-series or original graphic novel rather than a premature end to an ongoing series with other writers and artist having to pick up the pieces.
