		Now, years after the initial Adiemus project was launched, Karl has discovered that Adiemus has a meaning in Latin (with a slight variation in spelling).
		The knowledge that Adiemus has a meaning - 'we will draw near' invokes what I feel to be an appropriate concept of bringing people together.
		Since Adiemus has risen in popularity around the world, it has become a growing entity meaning many different things to many different people.

	Adiemus Live (March 2001) at Musical Discoveries
		Welsh Adiemus fans are reported to have queued for hours when the tickets to this live performance were initially made available.
		And whilst the vocals in Adiemus' music are heard on the albums primarily as layers of Miriam Stockley's work, the live performance achieves a similar effect from nine Finnish girls, who unfortunately were mixed up a bit higher than we would have liked.
		Adiemus is difficult to classify but they appeal to vast audiences worldwide.

	Karl Jenkins: Adiemus
		Adiemus is difficult to categorise because it's the culmination of 25 years of experimenting with and integrating different kinds of music.
		To sound like the album, Adiemus had to use backing tapes to reproduce elements of the studio recording that couldn't be performed live: Miriam Stockley's vocal overdubs and some of the percussion.
		The Adiemus sound could not have been achieved without extensive multitracking and the use of computers and samples, so it's in terms of the hardware it uses as well as its combination of musical influences that this is genuine crossover music.

		We rebuilt the server room, which means that adiemus is now on an IP KVM, as well as some remotely-controlled power outlets.
		This means it's possible for me to maintain adiemus (and the other systems at work) if anything keeps it from booting onto the network.

	Adiemus IV - The Eternal Knot at Musical Discoveries
		The traditional Adiemus vocals of Miriam Stockley and Mary Carewe are enhanced quite well by the high soprano voice of Caryl Ebenezer.
		At the beginning they must have had some problems with the sound-technique because Miriam was nearly not heard - most of all her solo during the end of "In caelum fero." They also seemed to have turned up some other parts of the orchestra during the piece.
		During "Adiemus, The 1999 Version" it was a funny experience to see that a Gemshorn is exactly what it is called.

	Gig review: Adiemus
		Adiemus has little to do with Soft Machine and Soft Machine attracted less than two sentences in the programme.
		There is a freshness to Adiemus that was further enhanced in a live performance.
		At times, I was reminded of Pip Pyle in a recent In Cahoots gig: the same manic drive to the percussion with which everyone else was desperately trying to keep up.

		I bought this for the Adiemus track, which still has the power to bring tears to my eyes - but was completely blown away by the whole CD!
		Not only is it soothing and yet, uplifting, you will find yourself recognising some of the tracks (such as Adiemus, and Cantilena - the C and G adverts).
		I like certain tracks from all of the 'Adiemus' series, but this CD really does have all of the best ones.

		Songs of Sanctuary is not as good as The Best Of Adiemus, but then again, what is. It still has enough good material on it to warrant a five star rating though.
