Our business administration program has evolved to meet the needs of business firms and students by providing our students with a broad knowledge base in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, communication, mathematics and computer science, as well as in the principles of economics, accounting, management, marketing and finance.
The integrated approach to the study of business and business issues which we have built into the program demands an understanding of the interrelationship among these functional areas of business as well as sensitivity to the economic, social, technological, legal and international environment in which businesses must operate.
Business administration majors are required to complete a three-credit practicum that consists of either practical business experience, study abroad or advanced business research and writing.

The School of Business Administration is pleased to continue its partnership with Gateway.  Incoming undergraduate business school students are required to purchase a Gateway personal convertible laptop/tablet for use both in and out of the classroom.
On Sunday, May 22nd, the School of Business Administration held Commencement exercises at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts to celebrate the Class of 2005.  Bachelor of Science degrees were conferred upon 183 undergraduate students and 26 graduate students were awarded the Master in Business Administration degree.

Business administration minors shall not enroll in any required upper-division course (in the minor) until they have completed all of the required lower-division courses (in the minor) with a grade of at least “C” (2.0) in each course.
The bachelor's degree in Business Administration may be effectively combined with subject matter studies necessary for the single subject teaching credential in business.
Students with a bachelor's degree in business administration may be able to complete the program with the minimum of 33 units.

Roughly $1 of every $5 in loans that the Small Business Administration directly made to companies hurt by the September 11 attacks has fallen into default, leaving the government with an uphill effort to recover millions of dollars in taxpayer money.
The SBA directly lent $1.2 billion to more than 10,000 companies that made specific arguments about how their businesses were hurt by the suicide hijackings in 2001 that destroyed the World Trade Center in New York and damaged the Pentagon in suburban Washington.
Rep. Nydia M. Velazquez, who represents New York City and is the top Democrat on the House Small Business Committee, wants the SBA to extend the period before companies are required to make loan payments, hoping to ease the burden.
