Adobe is a building material composed of water, sandy clay and straw or other organic materials, which is shaped into bricks using wooden frames and dried in the sun, also known as Mudbrick.
Adobe buildings also offer significant advantages in hot, dry climates, as they remain cooler as it stores and releases heat very slowly.
Other large adobe structures are the Huaca del Sol in Peru, built using 100 million signed bricks, and the ciudellas of Chan Chan, also in Peru.

Adobe has continued to be a strong presence in the fonts market: in 1996, the company, in combination with Microsoft, announced the OpenType font format, and in 2003 Adobe completed the conversion of its library of Type 1 fonts to OpenType.
Adobe was ineligible for Fortune's ranking in 2005 due to its major acquisition of Macromedia.

Adobe, which makes the Photoshop photo-editing software and a variety of other programs for graphics and publishing, said in January that sales would lag its earlier forecasts, which called for 25 percent growth.
Adobe is the No. 1 publisher of graphics software and the second-largest software publisher in the United States.

When someone wants to add a digital signature to a document, he or she selects the "save as" command in Acrobat, Adobe's PDF authoring application, and chooses the option to add the signature stored on the USB key.
As the document is handed around, Adobe Reader, the company's free PDF viewer, reads the signature and checks to make sure the ID matches the person who sent the document.
Adobe is working on another security-related add-on for Acrobat, LiveCycle Policy Server, that will allow document creators to set restrictions on who can read a PDF file, for how long and other factors.

 Adobe Patches Photoshop, Illustrator Flaws
San Jose, Calif.-based Adobe is working on a plan release security updates on a monthly cycle, but a spokesman told eWEEK that this batch of patches is not part of the scheduled updates that will be implemented later this year.
According to a security bulletin from Adobe, the vulnerability could be exploited by malicious hackers launch security bypass, data manipulation and privilege escalation attacks.
Adobe said the vulnerability presents a risk for shared, multi-user systems.

John it is GREAT to see Adobe finally embrace the wider user community in a free beta vs the select few users - I truly hope this continues and spreads to other products.
I like the way Adobe have been heading with bridge and now with lightroom, but it would be a real photographic head turner if the software could capture directly from the camera as well as managing images the way it does.
