Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was created by DiC Entertainment, which produced a total of 65 episodes for its first season, and was syndicated by Bohbot Entertainment, now BKN International (in the original run, every episode began and ended with the "Bohbot Entertainment Presents" logo).

This wasn't to be the end of AoStH, however, for DiC created one more episode in the winter of 1996, "Sonic's Christmas Blast" - which ended up being a strange mix of AOSTH and SATAM, another Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon show.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonikku za hejjihoggu) is the flagship character and mascot for the video game and arcade game (and formerly game console) company Sega, which has released a series of video games in which he either stars or plays a role.
Sonic must collect rings to protect himself from the robots, and as long as he has at least one, he is invulnerable save for drowning or being crushed.
Sonic is something of a nomad; he travels from area to area of the Earth searching for new things to see and do, rarely stopping for anything or anyone unless he's needed, often times getting himself involved in Eggman's schemes to take over the world.

Sonic the Comic notably divided the planet up into "zones", each with its own distinctive landscape and climate, in a similar manner to the early games.

Sonic and Tails show up before Robotnik (who's now had plenty of time to buy some pirate gear for himself and the crew) and Blackbot can reach land and have some fun with the Badniks before getting trapped in the belly of a roboticized whale that doesn't seem to rust easily.
Sonic uses a power shield gem and uses the aforementioned attacks to defeat Robotnik and send him in the middle of a war.

AoStH differed from the games in a lot of areas, but remained truer than most of the cartoons.
