Swiftlet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Genus Aerodramus in family Apodidae is of special interest due to its use of echolocation and their intricately constructed nests which are harvested and bought at extremely high prices.
The use of echolocation was once used to separate Genus Aerodramus from the non-echolocating Genuses, Collocalia and Hydrochous.
The genus, Aerodramus, was thought to be the only echolocating swiftlet in the family Apodidae.
