Public sales of these charts and publications are available through a network of Chart Agents conveniently located at or near principal civil airports.
Aeronautical information changes rapidly, and it is vitally important that pilots check the effective dates on each aeronautical chart and publication to be used.
To make certain a chart or publication is current, refer to the next scheduled edition date printed on the cover or consult the Dates of Latest Editions.

A large percentage of military and recreational pilots will use the sectional aeronautical chart and fly by visual flight rules, which means that they stay in sight of the ground during their flight.
When reporting landmarks for charts, be sure they are clearly visible from all sides from the air and are distinctive enough not to be confusing or add clutter to the chart.
