Aerosmith is a long-running heavy metal band, originally forming in Boston, Massachusetts in the early 1970s, and enjoying a later resurgence in popularity in the late 1980s.
By the time the album was released, Tyler and Perry had exited rehab and appeared on Run D.M.C. 's massively successful cover of "Walk This Way", blending rock and roll and hip hop.
Aerosmith signed to Columbia Records in the early 1990s, but had to complete two contractual albums for Geffen[?] before recording for the new label.

Later that year, Aerosmith for the first time in 6 years entered the charts by teaming up with the rap group Run DMC to re-mix "Walk This Way." Success was once again reaching Aerosmith.

Aerosmith is bound and determined to do whatever it takes to stay fresh in the minds of baby boomers, as well as Generation X, and Y, as the "go to" band for good old-fashioned American rock ‘n’ roll.
Aerosmith debuted their new single, "Jaded," at this year's American Music Awards on January 8 and then went on to perform it live during the Superbowl halftime show as part of a medley with Britney Spears, N’ Sync and rap star Nelly.
I do admire Aerosmith for trying, and the best result of this effort is on the tripped-out title song "Just Push Play." It has crazy backward sound effects, a hip-hop flavored backbeat and a killer chorus that really make it a solid song.

On the other hand, Aerosmith were always a bit louder than the Stones, while the guitar team of Perry and Whitford traded off cool riffs like few other bands, until the emergence of AC/DC’s Young brothers who took this to a next level of crudity and excellence.
Aerosmith didn’t become an instant success and it certainly didn’t deserve to be one, but hearing it for the 76th time in a week, it’s not surprising anymore they’d come up with some of the finest hard rock of the decade (or ever) a few years down the road.
Even though the album's second half is no match for the first string of songs, it boasts one of the band's classics with the dark and heavy "Nobody's Fault," which features some of Tyler's best and original vocal performances and a drive that crushes everything on its way.

 Aerosmith Toys in the Attic SACD Review
While the members of Aerosmith were able to beat world-class drug additions to enjoy major commercial success in the 1980s and again in the 1990s, Toys In The Attic still remains the one Aerosmith album you have to own – assuming you (strangely) would only want to own one.
The album picks up for its three hit songs, starting with the immortal “Walk This Way.” Most noticeable for me on the track is how great the bass sounds.
The album is the kind of record that could attract mainstream consumers to the format, but one that only SACD enthusiasts can buy at present.

I bought this album when it first came out during my freshman year in high school (yeah I'm old), it was my first Asmith LP and I played the hell out of it.
Joe Perry actually call this record their "flout album" because both he and Steven Tyler were so wasted during the recording sessions that they would literally fl out (pass out) in the studio.
The other songs on the album are just fillers I believe, but as I said before compare this album to the albums that Aerosmith has been doing since about 1990 and "Draw The Line" would be defined as a classic Aerosmith album.

Another thing this particular set has going for it is that it starts with the very first album, "Aerosmith," and ends with "Just Push Play," then puts two brand new tracks recorded in April 2002 at the very end for good measure.
There are 2 or 3 songs from every single album they've put out since the first one in 1972 and they've all been digitally re-mastered so they sound awesome.
The "Get Your Wings" album contributes "Same Old Song And Dance" and "Seasons Of Wither." The ORIGINAL version of "Walk This Way," along with "Big Ten Inch Record" and "Sweet Emotion" put in their appearance from "Toys In The Attic," the album some say is the definitive AEROSMITH album with "Pump" running a close second.

Aerosmith has finished cutting the tracks for its new blues album, which will be mixed over the summer and fall and will most likely be released in January by Columbia, guitarist Joe Perry tells Billboard.com.
Born out of sessions held in the basement of Perry's Boston-area home and then recorded nearby at the band's recently built studio, the album will most likely include a couple of songs featuring Perry singing lead.
Pushing the album back roughly six months ought to prove helpful, he says: "By having the record come out in January, it gives us a little more time, and if something else comes along, it will be real easy to cut it and throw it on there," he says.

This may not be the best Aerosmith album but it's far from being the worst.

Bassist Tom Hamilton said the band would be back on tour in September, and he told us they should be able to bang out a new album fairly easily: "You know, we're being positive and ambitious, and we'll see how much we can get done between now and then.

I have heard that Aerosmith considers it their personal least-favorite, but I am going to guess that it's because they probably have bad memories of the times they were going through while making it.
Lightning Strikes was the radio single of the album, with it's tale of classic gang turf war.
Not only is this Aerosmith's worst release, it's one of the worst cds of all time.

He was the band's first drummer, but left the band as he was younger and had to finish high school.
