Major Christian sects include the Africa Inland Church (AIC), the Church of the Province of Kenya (CPK), and the Roman Catholic Church.
On the one hand are those Independent Churches with nationalist origins which separated from mission churches because the foreign missionary personnel resisted the relinquishing of power to African leadership.
