In 2003 they changed their name to the simpler Afro Celts; however, two of their latest albums, POD, a compilation of new mixes of songs from the first four albums, and their fifth studio album Anatomic uses the long and familiar form.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the Afro Celt Sound System in concert twice: last year at the WOMAD Festival in Seattle, and later that year at the Showbox in Seattle.
The combination of heavily programmed techno beats, and the live sound of the talking drum, the djembe, tablas, and other percussion, is the foundation upon which a blazing mixture of uillean pipes (similar sounding to the bagpipes), flutes and whistles, guitars, and keyboards are laid down.
In concert, we began to feel as though we were hearing the same song more than once by the time the end of the shows drew near, but that wasn’t necessarily such a bad thing, because we couldn’t help but dance our happy asses off to the strange and wonderful fusion they’d created.

This album came across my path a couple of years ago and has really never lost interest with me. Afro Celt Sound System is basically an extension of the already amazing Shooglenifty.
This was the debut album (as if you couldn't tell from the "Volume 1" in the title) and they have a second album out of equal brilliance.
The sound on Sound Magic really is like nothing you have ever heard before.
