		Afton is a great place to go for trails (running, hiking, skiing.) It's close enough to the eastern Twin Cities suburbs that its not far at all, but secluded enough.
		Afton State Park encompasses 20 miles of hiking trails and a few miles of bike trail as well as skiing opportunities in the winter.
		All in all, this is a nice park to visit for a day if you live within fifty miles, and it's nice to know that the trails are available if one would like always worthwhile exercise or a walk in the woods, but it is not one worth traveling great distances to visit.

		The Afton Trail 50K was held on Saturday, July 3, 1999 in Minnesota’s Afton State Park.
		Severe thunderstorms delayed the start of the race for about 30 minutes, and left the trails in wet, but runnable condition.
