 Zeus Heaven
His name was Balticos, and we will meet him in the moment when he - after 10 years of fruitless efforts - decided to collect his salary for the entire 10 years, leave Stymphalia and found a new city in a more friendly place.
King Agapenor wasn't very pleased to pay him those 5000 Drachmas, but he let him go on the condition that the new city will supply Stymphalia with wood, fleece and wheat.

 The Foundation of Nea Paphos
According to legend, it was founded by Agapenor, son of Ankaios, from the Arkadian city of Tegea.
It is interesting to note that there was a temple of the Paphian Aphrodite in Tegea: this could indicate a historical connection between Agapenor, Paphos and Arcadia.
Another possibility is that the story of Agapenor's foundation of Old Paphos, or part of it, was invented to explain the existence of the temple at Tegea.

 Harbours full text
Ancient and medieval writers often confused the new capital, which featured as a primary stopover on the sea route between Egypt and the Near East, with the older capital of the kingdom (Palaepaphos).
Strabo, for instance, mentions Palaepaphos and the harbour, and distinguishes it from Paphos (Nea Paphos), however he confuses the founding myth, which he attributes to the Trojan War hero Agapenor, when in all probability this myth concerns the founding of Palaepaphos.

 History of Cyprus
Foundations myths documented by classical authors connect the foundation of numerous Cypriot towns with immigrant Greek heroes in the wake of the Trojan war.
For example, Teucer, brother of Aias was supposed to have founded Salamis, and the Arcadian Agapenor of Tegea to have replaced the native ruler Kinyras and to have founded Paphos.
Some scholars see this a memory of a Greek colonisation already in the 11th century.
