	Aggrotech - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The style had mostly died out by the end of the decade with the rise of synthpop and futurepop in the alternative electronic scene, but has experienced a recent surge in popularity and proliferation as both aggrotech and power noise have become more common at goth/industrial clubs.
		Examples of artists that could be considered aggrotech include Aghast View, Suicide Commando, Die Sektor, :wumpscut:, Psyclon Nine, Hocico, Dulce Liquido, Amduscia, Tactical Sekt, Feindflug, Dot Execute, Virtual Embrace, Aslan Faction, Grendel, Agonoize, The Retrosic, Combichrist, Funker Vogt, Tamtrum and unter null.
		Older acts such as Aghast View and Wumpscut have more recently restructured their format into a mellower, less edgy style of music, while new acts like Psyclon Nine, Agonoize and Virtual Embrace have revitalized the genre to an extent.

		I was obsessively into the band Front 242, who used a lot of quasi-political imagery and thematic sounds in their music...as did a lot of the other industrial dance bands at the time.
		It went over well with the crowd (even though in retrospect I think they must have thought me a great deal more insane than I thought they did) and it all went with the whole industrial theme, and well, it was fun...not the kind of thing you got to see every day.
		If the winning of this war were decided by club attendance and general atmosphere, the "winner" was the Federation of Aggrotech, hands down.

		Those looking for modern answers to the harder forms of EBM should try listening to Suicide Commando or Hocico, who drew more influence from the likes of Frontline Assembly and Skinny Puppy (as well as some aspects of Dive and The Klinik), who combined EBM with electro-industrial/dark electro elements, utilising heavily distorted vocals.
		This stylistic variant has been referred to by some as Terror EBM or 'aggrotech'.

		I'm currently DJ and promoter at my own monthly club night, Khemical, playing Industrial, EBM, Synthpop, IDM, Futurepop, Aggrotech and Dark Rave.
		I prefer to play Industrial, EBM, IDM, and Aggrotech but I am flexible as to what I can play depending on the needs of the promoter.
