But there is not yet, official, certified material of Agiorgitiko in Greece, and the agiorgitiko that there is in some universities or instituties (DAVIS USA, ENTAV FRNCE) nobody knows if it is the traditional Agiorgitiko.

Agiorgitiko is one of two red cultivars (the other being Xynomavro) on which the hopes of many Greek winemakers rest.
These hopes are not so ambitious or unrealistic as to expect a major international role for the grape—only some acceptance, an appreciation for its wines and the opportunity to create export markets that support the significant element of the industry centered around it.
Xynomavro is one of the two most highly regarded of the Greek red cultivars (Agiorgitiko being the other).

 Wine&Spirits Magazine - Features
Alone for miles around, it's a testimony to owner Yannis Paraskevopoulous' belief that agiorgitiko is by nature a great grape that can do even better when planted off the valley floor.
His proof lies in Gaia's wide array of agiorgitikos, from a meaty pink wine called 14-18h Rosé, a reference to the hours it spends steeping on its grape skins, to an opaquely fl prestige cuvée (and a dessert version is on its way).
But agiorgitiko doesn't need the boost of cabernet, as Skouras also reveals in his classier, more subdued Grande Cuvée.
