  Russian Election
The Agrarian Party of Russia (APR) was founded in 1992 on the basis of the Agrarian Union faction in the Russian Supreme Soviet and other agricultural-sector organizations.
In 1999, the APR decided to contest the elections together with the Fatherland-All Russia bloc of former Prime Minister Yevgenii Primakov and Moscow Mayor Yurii Luzhkov.
The APR is a left-oriented party that advocates "traditional folk values" and defends all workers, especially farmers.

First, to secure a place on the PR ballot, parties had to have registered with the Ministry of Justice no later than six months before the election, and the number of signatures they had to gather rose from 100,000 to 200,000.
Those parties which were able to meet these criteria were exempt from the requirement to collect 200,000 signatures or pay a deposit equal to 37.5 million roubles.
