The Gower Agricultural Society is keen to do everything in its power to support the agricultural community and to avoid a recurrence of the 2001 outbreak with the terrible consequences to the rural economy which that caused.
Show officials are endeavouring to contact those connected with Sunday’s show to inform them of the cancellation.

Lismore's first show was held on the 27th and 28th of January 1885 and was located in the general area of the present R.S.L. Club.
The show was held in two parts, all exhibits, apart from livestock, were displayed in Albert Hall in Keen St - near a section of the Lismore TAFE College and horses, cattle, pigs, and poultry were in the town pound yard, which is about the site of the present RSL Club.
The first show was held by Lismore Agricultural and Horticultural Association, but the date of the change to "Agricultural and Industrial Society" before the show in 1885, is not known.
