Aguas Buenas is known as "La Ciudad de las Aguas Claras" (city of clear waters), because of the purity of its fresh water springs, the name literally translates to "good waters".
The town was founded in May 25, 1838 by Francisco Salas.
Aguas Buenas territory is moderately mountainous, located in the Central Mountain Range, north of Cidra and Caguas; south of Bayamón, Guaynabo and San Juan; east of Comerío; and west of Caguas.

Only two weeks after being blamed for the deaths of several domestic animals in Ponce, the enigmatic Chupacabras reappeared this time in the Caguitas Centro sector of Aguas Buenas.
When intervierwed by PRIMERA HORA, veterinarian and zoologist Pedor Núnez noted that the incidents ascribed to the "Chupacabras" - a character believed by many to have wings, flies swiftly and has nocturnal habits - could be the work of stray dogs, apes or exotic animals not native to Puerto Rico.
The specialist in exotic wildlife stated that during the drought season, some types of rats and mice tend to suck the blood of others to survive.

Being from Puerto Rico, my exposure to Orange County and the West Coast is quite limited; something that doesn’t prevent me from making observations and forming opinions.
While some might feel uncomfortable of the fact that an outsider is commenting on their county with unfavorable or crude observations, I agree that perspectives from the outside help break the often limited view that people have on their own communities.
