Agudat Israel (אגודת ישראל "Union [of] Israel", also Agudat Yisrael or Agudath Israel) began as the original political party representing Haredi Judaism in Israel.
In addition, policy decisions of Agudat Israel are ratified by its Council of Torah Sages which includes several other prominent Hasidic leaders and scholars, many being the leading rabbis from the main constituent groups.
Another longtime Agudat MK is Rabbi Shmuel Halpert, a member of the court of Vizhniz.

Degel Hatorah and Agudat Yisrael fear that the latest political developments will see the five Knesset seats they jointly hold dwindle when the election results are published in the early morning hours of March 29.
A breakthrough in reunification talks was achieved when Agudat Yisrael dropped demands that Degel Hatorah apologize for deciding to break away from Yehdut Hatorah, the party that united both factions before the general elections for the current Knesset.
Agudat Yisrael placed the first condition for reunification in the form of a warning that excessive interference from Degel Hatorah rabbis, namely rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, will not be accepted.

Agudat Yisrael was represented in all of the Knessets, either as an independent parliamentary, or as part of a larger unified religious bloc.
Agudat Yisrael participated in a number of parliamentary coalitions, but mostly was not represented by ministers in the government.

This often was sometimes the case with Agudat Yisrael until they, together with the Arabs in the knesset, cast the deciding votes for OSLO (it passed by 1 vote).
But, even before the OSLO vote the Rebbe blasted them for voting for concessions to terrorists - the Rebbe said that the money they received for their votes is dripping with Jewish blood and, therefore, not even the toilets of yeshivot may be built with that money, let alone study halls.

Agudat Yisrael abides by the ruling that observant Jews may eat only vegetables bought outside of the Holy Land, such as produce grown by Palestinians farmers in the Gaza Strip.
But the Gaza vegetables are low quality and cost twice as much as the Israeli produce because of the inflated mark-up levied by the wholesaler, appointed by the local Jerusalem rabbinate, who has a monopoly of the supply to the city, said Yitzhak Kalay, director of Co-op Jerusalem, the biggest local supermarket chain.

While in front of the Eretz Yisrael component there is a vital albeit narrow operational element which can be called the 'cutting edge' of religious Zionism and that is the act of Aliyah.
A religious Zionist is one whose work on behalf of Eretz Yisrael, whose appreciation of the importance of Eretz Yisrael and whose commitment to Eretz Yisrael are based, in part, upon his understanding and acceptance of these three root principles.

The Head Heeb: UTJ is in
UTJ is a sometimes-uneasy union of two parties, the Hasidic Agudat Yisrael movement and the primarily Lithuanian Degel Hatorah (Torah Flag), and earlier reports indicated that the former wanted to join the government while the latter didn't.
The fact that Rabbi Eliyashiv's roots are with Degel Hatorah rather than Agudat Yisrael, though, may diminish this report's credibility, and both parties are aware that they might have difficulty meeting the electoral threshold by themselves.
In any event, Agudat Yisrael is the stronger faction in the party, and even a Degel Hatorah walkout wouldn't prevent Sharon from forming a government.
