In Italian service, the latter is referred to as the Agusta A129 CBT (combat configuration) version, the first of which was delivered in October 2002.

Going out on a limb here, but the turret looks to me like the one they fitted to the last batch of Agusta A129 Mangusta gunships, so I'd hazard a guess that the proposed upgrade is Italian (Officine Gallileo?)
I found some more pictures of Mi-24's without original gun-armament, like this, Mi-35 export variant with upgrades.
